A Roller Coaster of Emotions

Couressty to London free press.

On 13th of March, we received an email from President David Agnew of Seneca informing us that in person classes were suspended. However what was supposed to be a three week break, turned into a lockdown by the government. This self-isolation period has been a whirlwind of emotions. Life changed drastically as everyone went from seeing and meeting people everyday to not seeing them at all. We went from hugging and shaking hands with each other to physical distancing ourselves. And while this has been hard, everyone has been finding ways to cope with covid-19, so did I.

To cope with covid-19, I started exercising because it was the best way of sweating out the frustrations of being at home. I also hopped onto some new trends which started after the lockdown, I also had an insane amount of avocados-it became my comfort food during the first five weeks and I would only have an avocado toast when I was upset or hungry.

The avocado toast I was absolutely obsessed with.
I love dalgona coffee now, it’s one thing that’s definitely staying even after lockdown is over.

My family and I started watching movies together which helped us spend a good time together and just relax ourselves,  we also started cooking together. Cooking together helped us distribute tasks and we enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen, my personal favourite experiment so far has been dalgona coffee and I still drink it almost everyday.

We go to our nearby park for a walk daily.

An obstacle I had to overcome was my levels of productivity, because I personally felt like I was being more productive when I went to college because my body was active, so when we started staying at home, my levels of productivity seemed to have dropped because I was demotivated. To overcome this, I had to set a schedule for myself and I started going out on daily walks so that my body keeps moving and my mind is refreshed after the fresh air.

This lockdown has made me laugh and cry both, but the day this virus leaves us will be the day that I’ll be beaming the most.
