Being Better Everyday

Surviving is in the very core of human DNA. Either it is calamities or pandemic, the human being is surviving for ages. It has been more than 75 days since COVID19 is declared as a global pandemic. We, as a society have never experienced anything like this in the last ten decades.

The approach of going through this pandemic vary person to person. For me, being quarantine and self-isolation was the hardest fact to consider. Initially, I did not take any precaution and went for photoshoots with friends as transportation was free in Toronto. I got sick badly and had to rush to the hospital.

Fortunately, I was tested negative. I realised about being in a place where my family couldn’t do anything because they are in India. When I came back from the hospital, they strictly informed me to stay inside for fourteen days; then I decided to work on my immunity.

I started exercising every day. Yoga and meditation were beneficial during self-isolation. After fourteen days, I started running in a trail near my apartment. Running has become a meditation for me.

Started with 2 kilometres, I run more than five kilometres every day. I watched documentaries and started listening to podcasts. I recently heard a great saying, THIS TOO SHALL PASS, which helped me grow as a person. The pandemic has affected our present so much that we never realised how much it is affecting our future. Many things have changed and will be changed; take Journalism as an example, We as a journalist, never covered such a big event on such a small basis of the internet. Not only media field but every industry affected by this pandemic. In the end, being a better version of yourself is all matters.
