Seneca Sting Women’s Volleyball Lose Against Algonquin Thunder

The Seneca Sting women’s volleyball team had a rocky start to the first game of their second season, losing three sets in a row against the Algonquin Thunder.

The two teams went at it back and forth during the first set with the Sting behind 25-23 by the end. Things took a turn downhill for Seneca as the match continued, however, with the Sting finishing on the losing end of a 25-15 score during the second set and 25-11 in the third. During the final set, shortly after being switched in, the Sting’s number 4 middle Kayla Lewis suffered a leg injury and was not able to continue.

Rath and Nicole Boyd led the Sting offensively with 6 kills each and 17 assists from Gen Potovsky. Breanne Scheerhorn led the Algonquin Thunder with 8 kills while Sidney Sletcher contributed 22 assists.
