Quarantine in London Ontario

JRN 241: Coping with Covid assignment

A completely different lifestyle has dawned on us because of the global Covid-19 pandemic. Not everyone is taking the same precautions or has adjusted to it the way others have, but, here’s how I’ve coped with Covid-19.

When the pandemic started, I was living with my aunt in Toronto because I was attending Seneca College. As Covid-19 quickly spread, I gathered my belongings and moved back home to London, Ontario as school was going to be online. Coming home really helped with my adjustment to the new lifestyle because I have friends here I can visit, following the safety precautions of course, I play with my dog and can go on drives down the country roads. Personally, I’ve adjusted just fine, but, it’s depressing that most places are still closed and there are so many safety measures to follow. My family has also adjusted quite well, my mom is now working from home, while my dad has his restaurant open for takeout, delivery and pickup.

Now that parks have opened, I’ve gone to soccer fields with a friend to get us out of the house and to get some exercise. Now that the weather is starting to get nice, I’ll be at the fields when I have free time.

The summer semester has started online, that is also an adjustment and will keep me busy, so all I’ll be doing this summer is finishing up the school year and getting outside when I can.
