Tips for fun family activities

For many, summer may be officially ruined. With millions of smalls businesses, parks and schools being closed, significant events like the C.N.E. cancelled, there is almost nothing to do for those who enjoy spending their time outside.

For my family, having fun outnumbered the days of boredom, anxiety and stress. Because we used to spend most of our time outdoors, we didn’t realize the amount of fun we can have staying inside without worrying about putting ourselves and others at risk.

First, we each started with thinking about our favorite hobbies. With sunny days now appearing in the forecast, gardening was not a question. Just like what we did, my family and I recommend someone from the household going to your local Wal-mart or gardening store and buy a variety of seeds. Get creative, and maybe start a vegetable garden. If kids are involved, great! I had my niece and nephew planted seeds and water them after I did dug the holes. A simple and fun way to make your front lawn or backyard look amazing.

Regardless of the restrictions due to Covid-19, your summer isn’t over yet. It’s time to start changing and adapting to the new lifestyle. Many struggles have raised for my family and me, and weather its financially, mentally, socially or more, you can all get through it. Just stay positive and keep yourselves, loved ones and families busy with safe and fun activities.
