On January 6th, the Capitol building in Washington D.C was breached by Trump supporters

Due to many news outlets spreading pictures and videos of rioters, President Trump's name was being searched countless times on Google. The search for “Trump” reached 100% on Wednesday, January 6th at 7PM. After that, the percentage of people googling continued to fluctuate up and down until another high point on January 8th, where 66% of people had googled his name. This day, Trump declared that he would not attend the Inauguration for Joe Biden. This was also the same day that Twitter decided to permanently suspend Trump’s account.

After the rioting happened, President Trump released tweets that incited violence. He also got banned from Facebook and Instagram. As seen on the chart, Biden’s searches are represented on the blue line. The search for his name only went up to 14% on January 6th at 4PM. That day, Congress gathered for the electoral vote count and Biden secured his spot at the top. Biden's highest percentage is 1% higher than Trump’s lowest number of 13%, which was on January 5th at around 1-2PM.

As time passed, Trump became impeached for the second time on January 13th. Vice President Mike Pence declined to invoke the 25th amendment in order to remove Trump before his term expires.

Now, Joe Biden is getting ready for the Inauguration ceremony where he will be joined by Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on January 20th. This will take place on the west front of the US Capitol.
