Fans will have the chance to watch Bruce Springsteen’s 1979 performance “No Nukes” at Madison Square Garden. The DVD and Blu-ray will be released at the end of this week.

Springsteen and the E Street Band never allowed camera crews to film their shows, all due to the groups superstitions.

This special was recorded on his 30th birthday, displaying Springsteen’s youthful energy, as he can be spotted throwing a cake into the audience.

Bruce and the band condensed what was typically a four hour show into just 90 energetic minutes. This was intentionally done so that other performers such as The Doobie Brothers could have appropriate stage time, to also wow the crowd.

The special film project “No Nukes” releases this week on DVD and blue ray. It will provide fans with visuals and audio of the band rocking on stage. The streamed presentation will be available later in the new year.

Bruce Springsteen is a rock and roll Icon, he was born in 1949 and grew up in New Jersey. Springsteen grew up listening to legends like Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, who helped encourage his authentic heartland rock sound.

Bruce earned his famous nickname “The Boss” when he was playing with his old band named Earth, back in the 1960’s. The Boss would be tasked with collecting money from the club owners post show, and distributing it equally to the crew afterwards.

Springsteen has sold over 135 million albums worldwide, earning him a total of 9 Grammys.
