Sting Women Ready for the Playoffs

Seneca defeated Loyalist 3 sets to 0 in their last game of the regular season.   Ngameni Davina and CL Viloria both had great games. Davina had 14 kills and total attacks of 29 and finished with a total kill percentage of .414. Viloria finished with 6 kills and 13 total attacks with a kill percentage of .385.  Everyone played a great game and fought hard to win. Seneca really wanted to win this game to keep their momentum high and end the regular season off strong.  Seneca is on an eight game winning streak and ended off the regular season with a great record of 14 wins and 4 losses. They also had a great home record of 8 wins and 1 loss.  Good for second place in the standings in the East behind Durham.  In the west division Humber finished first with a perfect 18-0 record.  Conestoga and St Clair each had identical records to Seneca, 14-4.   The women’s volleyball championship will be held Feb 23-25th at Sheridan College in Oakville.

Davina said after the game,  “Next we need to go and play for the final 4, We don’t know who we play yet but we are hopeful we can make it to the final”. She also said “I think we need to practice more on receiving serves because defensively we are not quite there yet and if we do that the next game should be good.”

Next up for the Sting will be a crossover match against Redeemer University, the sixth place team in the West.  The Royals finished with a record of 8-10.   The game is Saturday Feb 18th at 1:00 at Newnham campus.
