Steve Jobs’ weathered and worn out Birkenstocks sold for a whopping 218,750 dollars at an auction in New York City this past Sunday.

The shoes were worn by Steve Jobs during the 1970’s and 80’s while many crucial moments within the Apple corporation were happening.

According to Julien’s Auctions it’s the highest price paid for sandals at an auction in history.

But this is not the first time that Steve Jobs’ items have been sold at auctions. Other items of his including a black leather jacket that he wore while giving the finger to an IBM sign in 1983 was sold for $22,400 and his Seiko watch was sold for $42,000. His personal bathrobe was also listed as an item to buy.

But the big question some people are asking about the sandals is do they smell ?

According to Executive Director Martin Nolan of Julien’s Auctions the only thing the sandals “do smell of .. is success.”
