TORONTO – Prince Charles is in the hot seat after a new book by Christopher Anderson called Brothers And Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, claims Charles questioned what skin tone the future children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be.

Markle had made a comment during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March that her son Archie would be refused the title of Prince because of the family’s concern about how dark his skin tone would be. When Winfrey pressed for more information from Harry, the prince emphasized the comment did not come from Queen Elizabeth, nor Prince Phillip. A statement later given by Buckingham Palace stated the allegations would be dealt with privately, but they are taking the accusations seriously.

After the interview, Prince William had told a reporter, “We are very much not a racist family,” but last week William made comments about Africa and the continent’s population growth, which were deemed racist and privileged by many.

While neither Markle nor Harry confirmed which royal family member did make the comment, Anderson claims in his book it was Charles on the day Markle and Harry’s engagement was announced in 2017. Page Six who obtained a copy of the book, says it alleges Charles asked, “I wonder what the children will look like?” to which his wife Camilla, a bit stunned, supposedly replies, “Well absolutely gorgeous I’m certain.” Anderson then claims Charles lowered his voice and remarked, “I mean, what do you think their children’s complexion might be?

Anderson told NBC’s Today Show (Insert Vanity Fair Hyperlink) in an interview on Monday, that the alleged comments made by Charles were “benign” and the “palace insiders twisted the narrative.” Anderson stated that Charles quote comes from a “well-placed source”.

Anderson then goes on to tell Today, “I mean, here’s this beautiful biracial American woman and the world’s most famous redhead. I’m a grandfather, of course, we all do this, speculate on it. But it was turned into something very toxic, it was weaponized by the ‘Men in Gray’ who run the palace organization. Unfortunately, by the time it got to Harry, that’s the way he took it.”

Andersen then said, “Whatever is in the book, there are multiple sources for this.”

Yesterday a spokesperson for Prince Charles said the allegations against him for the comment are “fiction”, further stating it is “not worth further comment.”

The new book Brothers And Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, by Christopher Andersen comes out this week and is already #6 on the Best Sellers list.
