Metrolinx and Woodbine Entertainment Go Together

Metrolinx has partnered up with Woodbine Entertainment to open up a new Go station beside the race track at off Highway 27.   The cost of this project will be between 75 to 90 million dollars. Transportation Minister Jeff Yurek says the new Go station on the Kitchener line will be built at no cost to taxpayers. ” We will reduce the cost of transit, create jobs and have more housing built.” Woodbine Entertainment has agreed to pay for the whole construction. ” Woodbine plans for developments around the station will bring new jobs, housing and entertaiment to Rexdale.”

The new station will be replacing the Etobicoke North station, at 1949 Kipling Ave.  625 riders a day commute through this station.  The new station will also serve students commuting to  Humber College which is 3.3 km away MPP of Etobicoke center said  ” This will more than just a commenters station it will also be a vital hub for students from Humber College and University of Guelph.”

There is no date yet when the new station will be completed but we are looking forward to see the final product.
