First Week at Seneca: A New Adventure

Many students take the first week to learn about important spots, such as the library, which is great for quiet study sessions or group projects. The IT help desk is always ready to assist you if you face technical issues with things like using online courses or connecting to Wi-Fi. Also, the SSF (Student Services Hub) is an excellent choice for advice on classes and other academic support.

Seneca’s first week is a waterfall of nerves, excitement, and new discoveries.  For many students, it’s their first time on campus, and finding their way around can feel exhausting.  But don’t worry, everything starts to make sense after a few days.

Students share a lot of different feelings about their first week. One student named Miranda mentioned, “I was nervous about the new place, but everyone was super friendly and helped me.” Another student named Joshua admitted, “I thought I’d be lost all day trying to find my classes, but the campus isn’t as big as I thought!”

Many find comfort in meeting new people during orientation events. It’s a great way to connect with other first-year students and realize that you’re not the only one figuring things out. Daniel said, “After the first few days, I felt more at home. I even found some cool spots to hang out between classes.”

Overall, your first week is about settling in, meeting new people, and finding out everything Seneca has to offer, and there is a lot of it! While some students might feel anxious, others are excited to fall into this new chapter of their life. Either way, you’ll soon find your rhythm and feel right at home!

Meeting new people at orientation events is a calming experience for many. It’s an amazing chance to make friends with other first-year students and understand that you’re not the only one still learning things. Anna, another first-year student said, “After the first few days, I felt more at home. In between classes, I already found some fun places to hang out.”
