Who knew Camping in winters can be a fun-filled and luxurious experience.

Camping is considered to be a  summer sport for most but ‘Michael Worona’ a resident of Brampton who has two boys Albert, (5 yrs old) and John (7 yrs old) thinks otherwise as he is loving the idea of winter camping.  “ I want to go all out for this winter camping experience with my wife and kids specially now more than ever because of the never ending lockdowns which have made the kids home bound” says Michael in a conversation with S@yNews. Well indeed winter camping can absolutely be something on your list this winter season with all the government restrictions and measures in place, camping  could be an adventurous way to spend some time in the outdoors with your loved ones.

The Birchwood camping area

Since most campgrounds are closed in winters. So finding the right camping spot could indeed be a problem, however Birchwood offers one solution as it offers a luxury camping experience with a wifi, a queen size bed and a kitchen as well in a dome for you to have an enhanced camping experience. Birchwood is located in Port Perry which is a small town about an hour’s drive from Toronto, Ontario.

People who have been to this luxurious camping experience have shared photos and their views on the instagram page of Birchwood.  Birchwood dosen’t have an in built washroom and you might have to walk a little to access their outhouse however their outhouse is just about 10-12 steps away from the dome while the usual walk to the outhouses for other camping grounds can be up to 400m. It however compensates for that by providing an exclusive private outdoor shower experience which is currently unavailable as it is only offered in summers. It is also not very far from to the main town ‘ Port Perry’ so if you are bored with your usual routine of cooking meals in your kitchen then you can always head to the main town to grab yourself a meal. You would also be provided with a permit to do ice fishing which I’am sure fascinates a lot of people and being in the outdoor you can always go for hiking.

Birchwood covered in Snow

Michael Worona also shares with us why his kids would love the experience. “My kids are really hands on when it comes to winter sports and they love making snow mans and help me shovel the snow which makes me believe they would love the winter camping experience.”

Winter camping at Birchwood can indeed be your mind changing experience and can surely be added to your to-do list for the weekend as it can be the relaxing getaway that people are craving from the everyday routine and stress. Cassie, who works with the booking management team at Birchwood told Say@news that they have been overbooked for the season. ” we do not have more spots left for this season in fact we are booked all the way till October 2022. we always suggest people to book ahead of time to avoid being in the waitlist.”

There packages start from $230 per night and they are currently receiving more bookings than usual for the winter season as a result of which they now also have a waitlist for their customers , So you might wanna save your spot by making an early reservation for yourself. you can get more details on how to book your stay with them or sign-up to be in their waitlist directly from their website.
