The Seneca Sting Women’s Basketball team was taking on the Fanshawe Falcons at the King campus. The Sting had already played Fanshawe in an exhibition game this season, which Fanshawe dominated 66-37. So, the Sting was looking to get revenge against the Falcons. Being a higher seed than the Falcons, the Sting had advantage in this game.
The Sting didn’t get the revenge in this game, as they fell to the Falcons for the second time this season by a score of 85-31. The Sting were outmatched against the Falcons as they struggled defensively and offensively. The Sting would also struggle with turnovers the whole game having 23 turnovers to the Falcon’s 15 turnovers.
The leading scorer for the Falcons was Joanna Smith with 19 points and the leading scorer for the Sting was Samantha Mendoza-Perez with 17 points.
Coach Felix Adjei had this to say about the team’s performance “We struggled to stop the Falcon’s offense and our team struggled with the turnovers.”
Adjei is looking toward next season “Well obviously it wasn’t the prettiest of seasons and we know that. So it’s all about that regroup and hopefully get better for next season and make it even farther in the playoffs.”
As for what’s next for this Sting’s women’s basketball team, they look to regroup and come out stronger next season in hopes of winning it all.
