Canadian basketball players consistently rank among the top players in the world. The NBA has produced an impressive list of stars, from Steve Nash to Andrew Wiggins, and most recently Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The basketball scene is about to see a new crop of Canadian talent emerge. In the future, these young athletes could be the ones to lead their country back to the top of the basketball world as the next generation of stars.

A young Canadian player who is still on the rise in his basketball career is Toronto’s Kye Dickson. He stands 6’9″ and is a freshman at Grayson College in Denison, Texas. A powerful scorer with an exceptional combination of size, skill, and athleticism, he is an explosive scorer. Averaging over 20 points per game and 9 rebounds on 45% shooting, Dickson has the potential to excel at the collegiate level.

Kye has a similarity of stature to Kevin Durant, the long wingspan and incredible shot-making capability has already established himself as one of Grayson Colleges’ top scorers, just as a freshman. Along with his scoring Kye is a dynamic rebounder with great awareness and the ability to get offensive and defensive rebounds consistently. In only his freshman season, Kye Dickson still has the potential to become a top player to any collegiate school who gives him a chance.

There is a bright future for Canadian basketball. Our country is home to a number of young talent who have the potential to be the next generation’s superstars. Canadian basketball could be led by these players with the right guidance and development.
