Seneca Takes the L in a close battle against the Durham Lords

The Seneca Sting Men’s team can add one more loss to their 1-2 season record  as they lose to the Durham Lords. At least it was entertaining.  Players from both teams were shooting lights out as the game progressed. The Lords took a 5 point advantage at the end of the first quarter. Even though Seneca was down, offensive threat and Seneca Sting star Raeshawn Washington was 3 for 3 in the first quarter and started the game off early with 6 points.  The jets were turned on in the second quarter.  Players from both teams were pulling off highlight plays front, right, and center. From flashy passes to deep threes, this quarter was electric. Three point specialist Jordan Anderson was deadly as he shot an efficient 3 of 4 and finished the quarter with 11 points for the Sting. Seneca led by two going into the halftime break with a score of 47 to 45.  As the teams entered the second half the pace stayed the same. The game was back and forth with Seneca being the slightly more dominant team going into the 4th quarter. The Sting led by six, 68 to 62 down the stretch.  The 4th and final quarter was a very anti-climactic one for the Sting as the team fell apart throughout the quarter. The Lord’s defense was too strong for the Sting as they doubled the total scoring for the quarter (Seneca 16 points) (Durham 32 points). Final score 94-84.  Durham Lords’ player, Keeth Tennant leading with a total of 24 points in 30 minutes of playing time.  Raeshawn Washington, of the Sting, had an amazing stat line which included 27 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, and shot an efficient 59 percent field goal average. The Sting hope to strike back and catch a W in their next Game against Algonquin College on Friday 25th at 8 pm.
