ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE TRAPPED IN HOPE, B.C FLOOD

Approximately, 1500 travellers became stranded  in the town of hope as they were expected to leave the town on thursday. A state of emergency has been declared in the Canada’s western province of British Columbia after a major storm. The Canadian Armed Forces have been deployed to help thousands of people who are residents and they all are trapped since the storm hit overnight in Vancouver.

As, of Thursday nearly 7000 properties remained under mandatory evacuation orders, with more than 2500 under evacuation advisory. Prime Minister said in reports that Armed Forces had been sent to rescue or to support efforts in Abbotsford areas which all were affected during the flood. The B.C. Government is expected to give more information today about this emergency.

On Thursday, helicopters dropped food supplies to people who live in mountains after slides destroyed roads and floods. It also affected major highways. Some highways have reopened and some are under observation. Thousands of farm animals have died and many more remain trapped by the flood waters after the storm passed away through Canada’s one of the agricultural intensive areas.  The impact of climate change on the frequency of this flood is still unclear. As a result, they are likely to be more intense with more extreme rainfall.

The same region , British Columbia suffered a record heat in the past few weeks that killed more than 500 people as well as wildfires but now the scenario is different over there.
