Puppy Therapy
Seneca College brought puppy therapy sessions to campus to help take the pressure off of midterm exams. This popular puppy therapy returning to the college once again brings adorable, friendly dogs to the college, providing students with the opportunity to have a fun and relaxing way to overthrow the stress of one of the most stressful times of the semester. Puppy therapy is the most focused on the relief mental health initiative at Seneca College, which allows students to reduce stress through interactions with dogs. The college mainly focuses on the mental health of students. Part of such an strong at Seneca College is to introduce to students Puppy Therapy sessions where students interact with therapy dogs to help reduce stress and anxiety. It’s adorable and a scientifically backed attempt to encourage mental wellness — this initiative is Puppy Therapy, or canine-assisted therapy, where trained dogs interact with people to combat stress the soul.
Based on the research, Animal therapy causes happy hormones to be released and body cholesterol levels to get low. The mental health is calm and stay, improved mood and feeling of relaxed; playing with a dog lowers blood pressure, improves heart health, and lessens symptoms of depression and anxiety.. In these sessions students get a moment of mindfulness, as they focus on happy, things and can give off the stress and the academic concerns that have been causing them distress. Students taking part in these sessions often report they feel less tense, less anxious and better placed to deal with the coursework. Their program is both a stress relieving mechanism designed to bridge students to more mental health care and a need by Seneca College to the complete success of their students. And with the college continuing its growth and clarification of this action , it’s a program that’s going to be loved and remain an essential part of the student experience. As The action will continue to be cherished and crucial to the student experience as the college grows and improves the program.
