On this weeks episode of Green’s Gamecast we had the pleasure of featuring Seneca’s star big man Jerron Alexander. After having an impressive rookie campaign last year he has managed to bring that same level of excellence into this season.
The men’s basketball team is currently on a 9 game winning streak making them one of the hottest teams in their division. A lot of their success can be linked to Jerron’s elevated level of play. Just this past week the sting went up against the Loyalist Lancers and St Lawrence Surge, and due to Jerron’s dominance on the glass and tenacity on offence they came out of that road trip 2-0. It was performances like he had against loyalist recording a staggering 22 points and 19 rebounds that earned him his second ‘Athlete Of The Week’ award. Despite his individual excellence, Jerron credits most of his success to his teammates.
“Kudos to my teammates they have me playing free and they believe in me and what I do, kudos to them for making me better.”
This humble mentality has helped build the chemistry needed to ignite this winning brand of basketball. Be on the lookout as Jerron and the sting go into this weekend’s double header looking to extend their win streak to 11 games.
