Sukhleen kaur is an international student studying in Canada who is aiming to build a safe community for students who come from different parts of the world. She has been working rigorously on social media to reach more and more people especially students who are sitting remotely. In 2019 she started her own Instagram handle by the name of YOU GOT CANADA  She says that she never had a motive when she started this Instagram handle and never knew would be able to reach this far. Until now, Sukhleen has helped more than 7000 students by guiding them in selecting colleges abroad, what colleges to choose and moreover, she is a well recognized motivational speaker. When she witnessed growth of her Instagram handle, and when she came to Canada, she wanted others to know her story.

In developing countries like India, moving abroad especially for girls is not less than achieving a milestone, this is because a lot of people are still bound in societal taboos. Adding more to the concern, students are mislead by a lot of consultation agencies. Sukhleen wanted to build a community that is free from any such kind of an issue and is totally unbiased. She has a following of more than 10, 000 people and it seems like, a million is not that far away.

“I do it with a purpose of assuming myself  at that place where a student, who is reaching out to me, is at. I do my best so that I can help them by empathizing in anyway I can. I put myself in their shoes, think about the problem, and then provide a solution. All my videos contain information that I think can help a lot of students”, says Sukhleen.

Anshita Kochar, a student from New Delhi, India shared the challenges that she faced while she opted Canada as her main study destination.  She said a lot of agencies misguided her and she felt demotivated. One day when she was surfing the internet, she found Sukhleen and then all her problems were answered.

“I was so disappointed at a time when no one could really answer what I wanted to ask. Everywhere I used to go, I used to feel demotivated and some agencies are charging so so much for nothing. Thankfully I met Sukhleen, she helped me like a younger sister and now I am here studying in Toronto”, said Kochar.

Not just this, Abhijeet Pathania is another international student who was in Canada when he heard about Sukhleen.

“I remember I was freaking out when I recognised that the immigration at the airport issued me a wrong Study permit. When I went to my college with that letter, I was so upset that my college refused to accept it. Communicating with my agent back in India was very difficult. Thankfully, I met Sukhleen and she guided me through the process. She did not even charge me anything.”, said Pathania.

Sukhleen nowadays is collaborating with companies internationally to reach out more and more students. When asked about her future plans, she says, “I am planning content for YouTube now! More love and support coming on your way”.
