Behind the Sting – Episode 1 – Giuliano Trombatore

Written by: Christian Fuller

Welcome to the Behind the Sting Podcast. Seneca’s own sports podcast where we give you the inside scoop on all things Sting Athletics. Each week we’ll take a different sport and give you a behind the scenes look on what it’s like to be a college athlete.

On this week’s episode of “Behind The Sting” we focus on the Men’s baseball team, outlining some of their successes, and struggles of this past season. Despite a less than fantastic record of 6-12, the boys went on to set the OCAA Men’s baseball record for highest scoring game, and we got an inside look from former player Giuliano Trombatore on what that experience was like.

Unfortunately, it was announced that the Men’s baseball team would be put on hiatus until further notice, so we had a roundtable talk discussing why this might have happened, in addition to the potential consequences for current players.

Giuliano said that the benefits of being a student athlete are more than just physical, delving into how the experience has helped better prepare him for his future career and just life in general.
