In today's digital age, children are spending an increasing amount of time online, making them more vulnerable to cyber threats such as inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and online predators. Stevan Lu started a Mango protection company in 2022 during the pandemic. He studied computer science at York University. He developed the Dual-Band Wi-Fi Online Protection system, which integrates internet protection and monitoring, combining Wi-Fi security with real-time monitoring. Stevan developed a vision to protect young users from the dangers of the Internet by implementing robust safety measures and parental control tools. Stevan had this idea to protect the youngest from network dangers by developing tools that help parents monitor online activities, block harmful content, and ensure a safer digital environment for children. He said, "I wants to expand mango protection worldwide." With help from HELIX, Seneca's entrepreneurial incubator, he launched the first product in North America.
Stevan's Lu idea originated from a deep concern for the safety of children navigating the digital landscape. With cyberbullying, online predators, and inappropriate content becoming prevalent, he realized the urgent need for a protective framework that empowers parents while ensuring children can explore the Internet safely. At the beginning of his career, he faced significant challenges: Inadequate market research and validation, as well as management of the supply chain and distribution. Stevan conceptualized a multi-layered approach that integrates technology, education, and parental involvement to address these challenges. His plan includes the following key components: Monitor their child's online activity and screen time, Block access to harmful websites and content, and Set time restrictions to ensure a balanced digital lifestyle. And Receive real-time alerts if their child encounters potential threats.
The dual-brand testing is still ongoing and will continue until the end of next month.
