After a stabbing at York University in North York on Wednesday night, a man was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries.”

Around 7 p.m. Toronto police were called to York Lanes Mall, an indoor mall on the York University Keele Campus at 4700 Keele Street, for reports of a big group of people fighting.

When they came, they discovered one man with stab wounds. He was taken to a neighbouring hospital in critical condition by paramedics.

According to paramedics, the man’s situation is not life threatening.

But the suspects fled the scene and haven’t given more description. As per an email warning sent to students, the altercation involved a student and “several non-community members” who were known to each other.

The alert states that the suspects displayed a knife and injured a bystander who was not a member of the community and was transported to the hospital. The investigation by the Toronto Police Service has revealed that neither the incident nor the community are now in danger.

Three videos that apparently show a portion of the alleged incident and its aftermath were shared on Instagram by a user whose account contains news about York University but is not affiliated with the institution.

While the second and third videos show footage of a person being transported by paramedics and photographs of emergency personnel at the scene, the first video appears to show an altercation inside a building
