The Impact of Microbeads on the Environment

With Clean and Green beauty making waves through the beauty industry we can’t help but pay more attention to the damage that current non-organic beauty products are having on the environment.

Microbeads provide the abrasive texture of exfoliants.

Microbeads are actually more harmful than we may think.  Microbeads are tiny solid pieces of plastic.  They are often found in exfoliants, and other personal care products such as toothpaste.

Clean beauty uses hair and skin care products without the toxins and wasteful packaging.

We spoke with Seneca College Cosmetic Science Graduate Kavita Beharry about the effect of microbead products on the environment.
