GM Hiring Technology Talent To Lead In The Transition

While GM Canada workers in Oshawa are being told their plant will shut down by the end of 2019,  the automaker is still hiring for another part of its operation in the GTA.

The VP of corporate and environmental affairs for GM, David Paterson said Monday they are leading in the transition to new technology. The company just opened its Markham technology center and will expand that technology center that will build the cars of the future and the technology of future.   It is all part of a global plan to cut costs and dedicate more resources to developing electric vehicles, so  they are hiring PHD and Masters students from Canadian universities to ” invent the cars of the future”.

They’ve hired 500 in last year, and hiring up to 1,000 technical engineers right now to develop software and algorithms for electric and self driving vehicles.
