A 23 year old woman is in critical condition after being shot and stabbed in the neck.  On Wednesday at 10:00 p.m the victim was walking on a pathway on the Pond Road south of Seneca at York’s campus when a man knocked her unconscious and proceeded to stab her in the neck.

Officers were called close to the area of Assiniboine Road and Leitch Avenue, southwest of Keele Street and Pond Road. The attacker was described as a five foot nine to five foot eleven, Asian male, dressed in a hoodie. He’s in his mid twenties and weighs around 170 to 190 pounds

“We unfortunately  can not give out any information about the suspect, or who his identity is, that information was not disclosed to us nor was the condition of the victim. But I will say that students should be careful of who they are around and stay safe.” Says Toronto police media relations officer Victor Kwang.

Students around the York and Seneca campus are feeling slightly on edge after hearing about the incident, especially those who live on campus. Some of them are skeptical about walking the streets alone, and worry if the attacker lives in one of the residences.

Officers encourage students to be careful and notify the police if they know anything about the assault.
